Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing (2:1)

The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying (2:2)

Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us (2:3)

He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision (2:4)

Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure (2:5)

Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion (2:6)

I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee (2:7)

Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession (2:8)

Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel (2:9)

Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth (2:10)

Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling (2:11)

Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him (2:12)

Michtam of David. Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust (16:1)

O my soul, thou hast said unto the Lord, Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee (16:2)

But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight (16:3)

Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips (16:4)

The Lord is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot (16:5)

The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage (16:6)

Thou hast delivered me from the strivings of the people; and thou hast made me the head of the heathen: a people whom I have not known shall serve me (18:43)

Because for thy sake I have borne reproach; shame hath covered my face (69:7)

I am become a stranger unto my brethren, and an alien unto my mother's children (69:8)

For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me (69:9)

Reproach hath broken my heart; and I am full of heaviness: and I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none (69:20)

They gave me also gall for my meat; and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink (69:21)

For they persecute him whom thou hast smitten; and they talk to the grief of those whom thou hast wounded (69:26)

But I am poor and sorrowful: let thy salvation, O God, set me up on high (69:29)

Then thou spakest in vision to thy holy one, and saidst, I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of the people (89:19)

With whom my hand shall be established: mine arm also shall strengthen him (89:21)

The enemy shall not exact upon him; nor the son of wickedness afflict him (89:22)

And I will beat down his foes before his face, and plague them that hate him (89:23)

His seed also will I make to endure for ever, and his throne as the days of heaven (89:29)

If his children forsake my law, and walk not in my judgments (89:30)

If they break my statutes, and keep not my commandments (89:31)

Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes (89:32)

Nevertheless my lovingkindness will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer my faithfulness to fail (89:33)

My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips (89:34)
